As the proud sponsor of the “Happy Accident” project by Julius Kazazian, we are excited to announce that this innovative creation has been honored with the Audience Award at the 2024 Final Exam Exhibition held at the Hout en Meubileringscollege in Amsterdam.
The vision behind 'Happy Accident'
Julius began his creative journey in April 2023 with a clear vision in mind. He wanted to develop a collection of “playful sofas” to create seating that extended beyond the traditional couch. Julius felt that contemporary interior design often lacked the lively hues that can make a space truly come alive. Therefore, his goal was to create furniture that not only offered comfort, but also added a vibrant touch of color.

When craftsmanship meets creativity
The result of Julius' hard work and creativity is a unique piece that tells the story of a painter who accidentally creates a masterpiece by spilling paint on the canvas. This narrative is beautifully embodied in the sofa’s design, which has been aptly named “Happy Accident.” The name itself is a nod to the famous quote by American painter Bob Ross: "We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents."
The craftsmanship of the sofa is as impressive as its concept. The organic seat is constructed from birch plywood, providing a solid and natural foundation. The “paint cans” in the design are made of solid oak, adding a touch of earthy elegance. And the vibrant “spilled paint” effect is created using our New Zealand wool yarn, adding texture and color that draws the eye.
