AK-V Tufting Gun Manual

AK-V Tufting Gun Manual

Introduction

Welcome to the AK-V Tufting Gun manual. The AK-V is a high-quality tufting gun designed for creating custom rugs with ease and precision. This manual provides all the information you need to operate, adjust, and maintain your tufting gun, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Whether you're an experienced rug maker or a beginner, understanding how to adjust the pile height and maintain your tufting gun will ensure you get the most out of your AK-V machine. Follow the steps below to adjust the settings and keep your gun in top working condition.

Pile Height Adjustments

The pile height refers to the length of the yarn loops or cut tufts left exposed after tufting. Adjusting the pile height will affect the texture and appearance of your finished rug. Here's how to adjust the pile height on your AK-V tufting gun:

Step 1: Measure Current Pile Height

Use a ruler or caliper to measure the current pile height. The pile height is measured from the foot of the tufting gun to the cutting blade or loop mechanism.

Step 2: Adjust the Pile Height

Loosen the cutting yellow screw and turn it to increase the pile height. Make sure to re-measure after adjustments to ensure you’ve reached the desired height.

Step 3: Fine-Tune and Lock

If necessary, adjust the cutting guard and ensure the gap between the scissors and needle is around 1mm. Once everything is set, tighten all screws to lock the settings.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance of your AK-V tufting gun is crucial to ensure smooth operation and extend the life of the machine. Follow these steps for routine maintenance:

Step 1: Clean the Gun

After each use, clean the tufting gun to remove any yarn fibers, dust, or debris that may have accumulated. This helps prevent jams and keeps the gun functioning smoothly.

Step 2: Lubricate Moving Parts

Apply a small amount of machine oil to the moving parts of the tufting gun to reduce friction and ensure a smooth operation. Avoid over-lubricating, as this can attract dust and fibers.

Step 3: Inspect for Wear and Tear

Regularly inspect the needle, scissors, and other components for signs of wear and tear. Replace any worn parts promptly to maintain the performance of the tufting gun.

Step 4: Store Properly

When not in use, store the tufting gun in a clean, dry place to prevent damage. Cover the gun to protect it from dust and moisture.
